Description
In this review, we introduce the recent developments of optogenetics, novel methods for controlling gene expression, cell morphology and signaling pathways by using the light technology and genetic engineering. The channelrhodopsins, LOV (light oxygen voltage) domain, and these applications are described. The optogenetics is maturing towards elaborate applications in basic research, in the production of biopharmaceuticals and in biomedicine.
