An experiment was conducted to investigate the allelopathic effects of warm-season and coolseason turf grass leaves on the germination and radicle growth of several turf weeds by “Sandwich Method”.<BR>The seed germinations of Cerastium glomeratum Thuill, Stellaria media (L.) Villars., Digitaria ciliaris (Retz.) Koel. and Poa annua L., were inhibited by agar-contained turf grass leaves, while those of Gnaphalium spicatum Lam. and Erigeron philadelphicus L. were promoted. Radicle growths of the seedlings were almost inhibited in all weeds.<BR>The result of the principal component analysis in radicle lengths of weeds suggested that the allelopathic action of turfgrasses to weeds and the reaction of turf weeds are interacted each other.
