The aim of this study is to clarify the relationship between planning and care system in unit-type nursing home. For this objective, an analysis was carried out on the plan of 79 unit-type nursing homes applied in 2002. The results are following. 1)The quality of common space such as the independence of living-dining space and the view from living-dining space, is influenced by the positioning of living-dining space and private room. 2)There is a close relationship between the scale of the care unit and sharing of facilities such as bath room and staff station. 3)Therefore, in case of unit-type nursing home, it's important to plan the positioning of each space considering care system.
