Description
In this study, risks of heat disorder at various outdoor activity spaces were evaluated by a numerical meteorological model. Commercial-building, residential-housing, and green-park spaces were chosen for our analysis. The WBGT (Wet-Bulb Globe Temperature) was adopted as a heat stress index. The WBGTs measured at those spaces clearly differed from each other. For each outdoor space, the calculated WBGTs were able to reproduce the same feature of the measured WBGTs. During the period from August 6 to August 14 in 2007, the hourly WBGT at every space was more than 60% reproduced for 25∼28°C of the “alert” rank by the model; the WBGT of 28∼31°C, which corresponds to the “severe alert” rank, was 65.7%, 59.7%, and 75.8% reproduced at the commercial, housing, and park spaces, respectively.<br>
