Description

We experienced two cases of hepatitis-associated aplastic anemia. First case was a 35-years-old man who has developed cryptogenic hepatitis in April 2003. Although his liver function was normalized in July, pancytopenia began to develop gradually. Second case was a 26-years-old man who has developed cryptogenic hepatitis in June 2003. After admission, his liver dysfunction was gradually improved. However, two weeks later, pancytopenia was suddenly appeared. Both cases were diagnosed as hepatitis-associated aplastic anemia on the basis of liver dysfunction, pancytopenia and hypocellular bone marrow. Immunosuppressive therapy was effective for pancytepenia in both cases. We should pay attention to aplastic anemia associated with cryptgenic hepatitis especially at young age.<br>
