抄録

In vivo oxygen consumption in the livers of patients with chronic liver diseases was studied by reflectance spectrophotometry during peritoneoscopy. The results were as follows; 1) In vivo oxygen consumption (VO2) significantly decreased in liver cirrhosis as compared to those in chronic hepatitis, and VO2 was correlated with the difference in absorbance between 569 and 650 nm. 2) VO2 was correlated with serum albumin and R15 ICG. 3) VO2 did not necessarily correlate with the oxygen consumption of liver slices measured in the O2-electrode apparatus.<BR>Therefore, the reduction of in vivo oxygen consumption in the liver was considered to be not due to the reduction of respiratory activity of liver itself, but due to the reduction of blood supply.
