Abstract
After intravenous administration, BSP and ICG are rapidly bound to serum protein. For the purpose of identifying the fraction of binding protein for BSP and ICG, column chromatography of sephadex G 200, single radial immunodiffusion in serum containing gels and agarose-gel electrophoresis were performed. The result showed that BSP was mainly bound to albumin and ICG was mainly to lipoprotein, especiallyβ-lipoprotein.<BR>In order to study the influence of plasma protein change on dye clearance, plasma disappearance rate of BSP and ICG were studied in 16 patients with hypoalbuminemia (less than 2.5%), but without proven liver disease, such as nephrotic syndrome, lung cancer, gastric cancer and protein loosing gastroenteropathy. There was high correlation between BSP clearance rate and serum albumin level (γ=-0.603, p<0.01), while the coefficient of correlation between ICG clearance rate and serum albumin level was low (γ=-0.331, p<0.05).
