Description
To confirm the efficacy, safety and usefulness of Eclar® ointment and cream in childhood, a post-marketing clinical study was investigated. Eclar® ointment and cream contain 0.3% deprodone propionate as synthesized adrenal corticoid hormone. Eclar® ointment and cream were topically applied to the following 56 patients of children 40 exudative dermatitis (36 patients on ointment and 4 patients on cream) and 16 lichenified dermatitis (13 patients on ointment and 3 patients on cream). The rate of efficacy on 49 cases treated with ointment was 87.8% as overall evaluated “improved”, and 100.0% as overall evaluated “slightly improved”. The number of cases treated with cream were too few (7 cases) to be evaluated for analysis of efficacy. From these results, it is estimated that Eclar® ointment is effective, safe and useful as topical treatment on eczema and dermatitis in childhood.
