丘疹‐紅皮症（太藤）のｌ例

A case of papuloerythroderma occurring in a 64-year-old male is described. The patient was seen with a 2-week history of pruritic nummular eczema-like eruptions of the trunk and extremities January 1994. Physical examination revealed dark reddish, infiltrative plaques of varying size and shape, scattered mainly on the trunk and extremities. No superficial lymphnodes were palpable. Results of laboratory test were within normal limit, except for mild increase of serum IgE level (711IU). He was treated with oral anti-histaminergic agents and topical corticosteroid. The eruption almost disappeared within ten months after the initial treatment. However, in January 1995, the patient developed fever and erythematous edematous rash over the entire body surface, followed by erythrodermalike lesion, showing with a striking sparing of body folds. Histologic examination of papule on the abdomen showed edema of the upper dermis, and perivascular aggregates of lymphocytes, histiocytes, and eosinophils. Further treatment with oral anti-histaminergics and topical corticosteroid yielded an excellent outcome. No concomitant internal malignancy was revealed. The present case was diagnosed as papuloerythroderma (Ofuji).
