Clinical efficacy and side actions of 0.05% clobetasone-17-butyrate ointment were evaluated on the various facial dermatitis.<BR>A total of 30 cases, i. e., 17 cases of atopic dermatitis, 4 cases of eczema infantum, 3 cases of seborrheic dermatitis, 2 cases of eczzema vulgare, 2 cases of actinic dermatitis and a case of pruritus cutaneus with eczematization, were examined for a variety of periods from 3 to 175 days. Although an average application period was relatively long 7 weeks, local side actions such as, skin atrophy, teleangiectasia, acne and rosacea-like dermatitis were not at all observed.<BR>Marked or moderate improvement was achieved in 28 out of the whole 30 cases (93%). This high efficacy and low side actions of this remedy indicate the high capability of safety application to the face where steroid side effect troubles tend to occur easily.
