説明

A patient with secondary localized cutaneous amyloidosis was reported, who was a 59-year-old fisherman. He complained of itchy brown nodules and yellow papules on the back of his left hand since six months. Clinically and dermatohistopathologically, the nodules were found to be Syphilis tuberoserpiginosa, while the yellow papules around the nodules were found to be Syphilis tuberoserpigiginosa, while the yellow papules around the nodules were detected to be the amyloid deposit. On the basis of the above findings, it was inclined to attribute that the amyloid change appeared possibly as a secondary change of a local degenerative process of Syphilis tuberosa among a few other dermatoses (cf. epithelioma, keratoma, actinic elastosis). Namely, the amyloid degeneration could be seen as a pattern of the local connective tissue degeneration. The interesting histochemical findings were also observed as follows; The staining reactions of PAS reactive substance, acid mucopolysaccharides and amyloid, substance appeared in upper dermis correlating to the process of the local connective tissue degeneration in between syphilitic granuloma and amyloid change.
