Description

Two cases of acquired ichthyosis were reported. One was a 52-year-old man who had a 6-month history of xerotic skin on the entire body and frequent diarrhea.<BR>His water holding capacity of keratotic layer was decreased. Detailed investigations disclosed that he had malignant lymphoma in the pancreas. The other was a 77-year-old man who had a two-year history of xerotic skin with itching and a one-year history of appetite loss following acute pneumonia.<BR>Acquired ichthyosis may be a valuable clinical sign of recognizing malignant conditions or of judging a patient's condition.
