Description

We report three cases of allergic contact dermatitis due to crotamiton, which is contained in several kinds of topical analgesic anti-inflammatory drugs as one of solubilizers. The three cases were as follows. Case 1 was a 79-year-old man. The 48-hour-patch test showed extreme positive reaction to crotamiton 10% in petrolatum. Case 2 was a 48-year-old woman and case 3 was a 39-year-old woman. The second and the third cases showed positive reactions to 0.5% crotamiton applied for 24 hours.
