Abstract

One percent hydrophilic ointment of γ-Oryzanol was used to eighty-seven cases of senile xerosis, ichtyosis vulgaris and other xerotic skin conditions. The effect was rewarding to all of these diseases.<BR>Clinical improvement was observed in 100% of senile xerosis, some pityriasis, lichen plaous and atopic xerotic skin, in 88.5% of ichtyosis vulgaris, in 87.5% of some other xerosis and in 86.7% of keratodermia tylodes palmaris progressiva.<BR>Side effects of the ointment were quite few and slight.<BR>γ-Oryzanol ointment will be tried with success to the diseases with xerotic skin.
