Abstract

Calcium Pantetheine-S-Sulfonate (PaSSO3Ca) is one of the pantothenic acid derivatives.<BR>We examined PaSSO3Ca inhibition capacity ofmelanin formation in vitro. For the safetyevaluation, we tested PaSSO3Ca cream to thefifty one patients with skin diseases by closedpatch method. And clinical evaluation ofPaSSO3Ca was performed in the fifty patientswith hyperpigmentation by half side method.Results were as follows<BR>1. We showed PaSSO3Ca inhibition capacityof melanin formation in vitro.<BR>2. PaSSO3Ca cream was shown to be safetyto the human skin.<BR>3. 10% PaSSO3Ca cream lightened the skin hyperpigmentation more than placebo cream.
