Abstract

A case is reported of an ectopic ureter opening into the seminal vesicle associated with dysplastic kidney in an infant. An 8-day-old boy was referred to our institution with abnormality in the right kidney revealed by ultrasonography performed at the 34th gestational week and after birth. Intravenous pyelography showed dysfunction of the right kidney. Vesicoureteral reflux was suspected at 6 months of age after an onset of urinary tract infection. Cystourethrography revealed the right ectopic ureter opening into the right seminal vesicle ; subsequently right nephroureterectomy was perform-ed. We reviewed 186 cases of male ectopic ureter in the Japanese literature.
