In this study, we evaluated the stiffening effect of using 2 types of metal grid as thickness increased reinforcing method instead of reinforcing bars as RC member reinforcement. The specimen installed on the RC member was 2 types of bended metal grid(C-type, U-type)and reinforced by thickening method using Polymer Cement Mortal(PCM). As a result, the load-carrying capacity of C-type specimen of Metal Grid expanded type and Metal Grid square cut type was increased 1.60 and 1.67 times respectively compared to that of the un-reinforced RC beam. On the other hand, the load-carrying capacity of the U-type specimen of each metal grid type was increased 2.13 and 2.59 times respectively. Furthermore, the failure mode of the un-reinforced RC beam and C-type specimen of both metal grid type was by flexural failure and the U-type specimen of both metal grid type was shear failure by increase of bending strength.
