Abstract

Paget's disease of the breast is usually localized in the nipple epidermis and the lactiferous duct located near the nipple. Paget's disease can be divided into two types, Paget type and Pagetoid type. We report five cases of Paget's disease of the breast. None of the patients had a palpable tumor. We performed total mastectomy in four cases and breast-conserving surgery in one case. All cases were Paget type. Sentinel lymph node navigation biopsy was carried out in all cases, and all cases were negative. Paget type was determined in the preoperative diagnosis, and sometimes in the final diagnosis was determined to be Pagetoid type. However, there is a great difference in treatment and prognosis. Therefore, accurate preoperative diagnosis is important for the treatment of Paget's disease of the breast. We feel that a sentinel lymph node navigation biopsy should be performed in Paget's disease operations.
