Abstract

A 70-year-old man presented with right hypochondralgia was found having a cystic tumor measuring 14 cm in diameter and having the hemorrhagic center part in the right lobe of liver on an abdominal CT scan. Initially his clinical course had been followed, but the tumor enlarged and anemia progressed. Laparotomy was thus performed. It was a giant tumor completely occupying the right lobe of liver. Histopathology revealed spindle shaped cells and multinuclear giant cells, and undifferentiated liver sarcoma was diagnosed. The patient's postoperative course was uneventful and he was discharged from our hospital on the 15th postoperative day. However, he died of recurrence on the 263rd postoperative day.<BR>As we have experienced an adult case of undifferentiated liver sarcoma which is an extremely rare entity in adulthood, we here report the case.
