Description

In the metachronous multiple carcinomas of the colon, it is so much rare and has been reported only two cases since Takami' reported in 1983, a case of multiple occurrence of carcinoma arising at a colostomy site after Miles' operation.<BR>We encountered case in 77-year old female who underwent Miles' operation (absolute curative resection) for rectal cancer in 1978. The patient visited our hospital because of dyschesia and hemorrhage from the colostomy site in January 1987, in the nine postoperative year. On the colostomy site, a part of the tumor was observed like all circumference and irregular of surface. And on the touch examination was revealed severe stenosis of 7cm length from colostomy site. Macroscopic examination was Borrmann 2 type and well differenciated adenocarcinoma was diagnosed by biopsy. The opertion was undergone left colectomy with dissection of the colostomy site.
