Abstract

We report a rare case of resection of a gastric villous adenoma by percutaneous endoscopic intragastric surgery. A 78-year-old man was diagnosed as having a 10cm villous adenoma in diameter of the stomach located in the cardiac region. The tumor was too big for endoscopic resection. Moreover, considering the exposure of tumor cells and the preservation of the cardiac function, we chose percutaneous endoscopic intragastric surgery. As to mitigate any restriction of movements for the forceps and the extraction of the specimen, we operated by single-incision surgery.<BR>Villous adenoma of the stomach is an unusual disease about 0.5% in all stomach polyps. In addition, although it often shows malignant transformation, our case revealed no malignancy.
