Description

Inhibitory effects of three drugs (Gliclazid, Phthalazinol and 1-methyl-2-mercapto-5-(3-pyridyl)-imidazole) on thrombus formation in rat aortas induced by Argon-gas laser were investigated histologically and ultrastructually. All three drugs showed more or less inhibitory effects on thrombus formation. Ultrastructually 1-methyl-2-mercapto-5-(3-pyridyl)-imidazole and Gliclazid showed a tendency to inhibit the adhesion and aggregation of platelets against coagulated plasma constitutents by laser heat and on the exposed subendothelial constitutents.
