Description
It is my opinion that the role of psychologists in psychosomatic internal medicine includes treating patients of psychosomatic disorders and infantile psychosomatic disorders with psychosomatic medical approaches under the indications of doctors to make the patients' indications improved so they can have their former conditions or conditions with high stress resistance. I think that psychologists can perform their duties when they set the treatment aims and agreements with structural procedures under doctors' indications and guidance, and when they treat patients with specialty including necessary medical knowledge, especially in team treatments and activities in and out of clinics, as they show their social status clearly. At the meetings of Japan Society of Psychosomatic Medicine, Japanese Society of Psychosomatic Internal Medicine, and other psychological symposia, we have discussed the position of psychologists, cooperating with doctors and necessary medical knowledge. In this paper, for the further development, I discussed psychologists' activities and duties in psychosomatic internal medicine while presenting and investigating some considerations for psychologists performing their duties.
