Description
The first blood donation was held from November 6th to 9th in 1967.
As for the medical history special caution was paid to the Filaliosis, endemic in that island in close co-operation with the health center. The specific gravidity of the whole blood of volunteers was rather higher and the rejection rate of female donors was 21.6%. The ratio of the four ABO blood groups of the inhabitants was much the same as those of Honshu island. But the incidence of Rho negative persons seemed rather higher, indicating the still existing consanguineous marriages among them.
Also some public hygienic data were reported.
