The coexistence of malignant gastric lymphoma with gastric cancer is rare. We report a case of such coexistence and briefly review the literature. A 63-year-old male being treated chronic hepatitis was monitored for a gastric ulcer and diagnosed by gastric endoscopy with adenocarcinoma (IIc) in the antrum and malignant lymphoma in the upper gastric body. He underwent total gastrectomy. Pathohistologically, the resected specimens showed superficial malignant lymphoma dispersed over the stomach wall and tubular adenoma adjacent to 2 of 6 affected sites. The malignant lymphoma showed infiltration of sm grouped as medium-sized B cell diffuse lymphoma by LSG classification. Gastric cancer (IIc, tub2, infiltration of m) was found at the lesser curvature in the posterior wall of antrum. The two independent diseases separately existed with no lymphnode metastasis. Helicobacter pylori infection was revealed with labeled streptavidin-biotin method on the gastric mucosa. He remains disease free 10 years after surgery.
