Abstract

We investigated application of flexible synthetic casting tape, Scotchrap, to disorders of the hand and fingers, such as carpal tunnel syndrome, radial nerve palsy, fractre of the shaft of the metacarpals, finger deformities of rheumatoid arthritis and others.<br>This matetial has some unique characteristics.<br>1) Rigidity can be changed to various flexible state with trimming of the material.<br>2) This can be cut easily by scissors.<br>3) This has good comfortability to wear.<br>We concluded that this material was useful for the conservative treatment of various disorders of the hand and fingers.
