抄録

Stability and durability of the motor-driven assist pump using a ball-screw have been improved by 1)developing a follow-up controller using an 8-bits one-chip microcomputer and 2)using ceramic bushes to prevent the pusher-plate from rotating. Five endurance tests have been performed. The motor-driven assist pump has been pumping water against an afterload of 100mmHg with a drive rate of 75bpm. The endurance test was automatically terminated when the actuator stopped for 5sec. Pump outflow of 4.51/min. has been obtained with 21% of efficiency (pump output /motor input) and pump performance has not changed during each test. Maximum continuous pumping duration is 75 days at time of writing. Reasons of termination were 1)water permeation into the actuator through polyurethane diaphragm on 31th day in the 1st test, 2)electrical malfunction on 17th day in the 2nd test and 14th day in the 3rd test, and 3)intentional termination on 38th day in the 4th test. After the 1st test, the actuator side of the polyurethane diaphragm was coated wish silicon rubber. But no mechanical problem have not occurred during 170 days. From above results, the developed system has excellent mechanical and electrical performance for long-term use.
