Abstract

Endotoxic hypersensitivity of nude mice(BALB/c-nu/nu)and normal littermates(NLM, BALB/c-nu/+)was examined. The auther observed the following: 1) Injection with E.coli LPS produced marked enhancement of the foot-pad reaction after 48 hrs. 2) The foot-pad reaction of nude mice was stronger than that of NLM. 3) The intensity of delayed type hypersensitivity in the case of the NLM immunized with F.tularensis reached its maximum level 72 hrs after the injection of PPD, but such a response was not detectable at any time in the case of nude mice. 4) IgM titer in nude mice was higher than in NLM and conventional mice(ddN). 5) The intensity of the foot-pad reaction to E.coli LPS had a positive correlation to the level of IgM titers.
