Abstract

A 44 year old male was injured by a big explosion.<BR>Three months later he became dyspneic with difficulty in swallowing.<BR>On the day of his admission the epiglottis was found to be posteriorly adherent to the anytenoid region.<BR>After tracheotomy and gastrostomy were carried out, the cicatrical tissue was removed and the epiglottis was brought to normal position under suprahyoid pharyngotomy; and healing ensued.
