Description

We have isolated a strain of Salmonella paratyphi C from duodenal juice from the carrier with gallstone. The following result were obtained.<BR>A man, 66 years old, lived in Rabaul from 1943 to 1946 in the world war II, and had had a malaria fever there in 1943.<BR>He returned to Japan. We had a gallstone in his body, and no any other signs except abdominal pain on his clinical examination.<BR>From the clinical examination, he was diagnosed as Gastriculcer, first but on the study of extracted bile from the gallbladder, Salmonella paratyphi C was isolatel from his bile.<BR>The organism was sensitive to NA, AB-PC, CP, KM, TC and CL, but resistant to OM, EM and LM.
