Description

Mechanical relaxation properties of thermosetting resins are discussed with their physical meanings and rheological interpretations.<BR>Analysis of temperature dispersion curves of viscoelasticity is very useful to elucidate the physical state of polymers. It can provite us so important informations as the relationship between glass transition temperature Tg and crosslinking density ρ of three dimensional network polymers, the influence of molecular motions on the curability, the rubber elasticity based on Mooney-Rivlin equation, and low temperature dispersions such as local mode relaxation. Investigation on viscoelasticity is particularly suitable for the study of the physical structures of cured thermosetting resins in which the flexbilizers are applied to improve their brittleness.
