Description
While the X-ray CT has come true and used to medical measurements, the ultrasonic CT has not yet fully improved because the propagating wave refracts at the border that two different sound velocity areas meet. To develop the reconstruction algorithm of the ultrasonic CT, many projection data in different condition such as sound velocity, attenuation coefficient or shapes of target objects are needed. These data naturally can be obtained experimentally, but rigorous evaluation of the algorithm often becomes difficult due to the difficulty of making a precise phantom model for such experiments, so we propose a substitutional method, that is the “simulator for projection data of ultrasonic CT.” To treat arbitrary objects, projection data are calculated by the ray tracing method because of difficulty to get a rigorous solution of a wave equation.
