抄録

The Ching t'ien law (井田法) is one of the land laws in ancient China (中国) and was described in many classical literature such as Chouli (周礼) and Mencius (孟子). However, the laws in Chouli and Mencius have been differently interpreted. This is due to miss-interpretations of the Chouli law. The Mencius law is interpreted as the registration based on classification of two distinct lands, Kuochung (国中) and Yeh (野). This is now believed to be the correct interpretation. If the Chouli law is read carefully, both the Choulis and Mencius laws turn out to be basically identical.
