説明

Since an earlier discovery of high magnetic permeability alloys, newly termed “Nimalloy”, in the Ni–Mn system, the authors have carried out a series of experiments on the effects of additions of various elements on the characteristics of these alloys, and obtained the highest initial permeability of 76000 and the highest maximum permeability of 441000. In the present study, relatively favorable results were also obtained by additions of silicon and titanium to Ni–Mn alloys. In the case of silicon additions, the nickel alloy containing 8.77% manganese and 3.55% silicon showed the highest initial permeability of 22500 when baked at 400°C for 8 hr after cooling at a rate of 240°C/hr from 900°C. And the nickel alloy containing 9.29% manganese and 3.57% silicon exhibited the highest maximum permeability of 140000 when baked at 380°C for 19 hr after cooling at the same rate from 900°C. In the case of titanium additions, the highest initial permeability of 20100 was obtained on the nickel alloy with 19.80% manganese and 1.28% titanium which was cooled at a rate of 240°C/hr from 900°C and then baked at 400°C for 60 hr, and the highest maximum permeability of 154000, the nickel alloy with 19.29% manganese and 2.05% titanium baked at 460°C for 11 hr after cooling at 240°C/hr from 900°C.
