Description
Several fairly general existence theorems are established for two-point boundary value problems associated with a nonlinear differential equation which occurs in the study of the p-Laplace equation, generalized diffusion theory, non-Newtonian fluid theory, and the turbulent flow of a gas in a porous medium. One of them implies the existence of similarity solutions to the Rayleigh problem for a power-law fluid.
