抄録

In this paper the authors describe the results of measuring the temperature distribution over the current type piston and also the special type piston, with thermocouples. The special type piston has four or six inside longitudinal fins which are intended to deduce high temperature of the head centre and the first ring groove. From the experimental results, the following conclusions have been reached : (1) The current type piston has high temperature enough to stick the piston ring to the first groove. (2) The less the fuel consumption, the lower the piston temperature is at the output being accmpanied by severe knocking. (3) The exhaust gas leakage disturbs the concentric uniformity of the temperature of the piston body. (4) The inside longitudinal fins prove good effect as intended by the authors.
