抄録

The experiments of the combined tension-torsion after pre-straining of extension and torsion respectively are carried out on thin walled tubes of brass. The results show that the terms of the first order as well as the second order representing anisotropy should be involved in the yield condition, the axis of its locus being inclined to the σ axis in case of pre-straining of twist of brass, contrasting with the results for mild steel obtained in the 2nd Report. And the fact that the inclination of the axis of the ellipse representing the yield locus in never-the-less smaller than that derived from the theory in the 1st Report, necessitates some extension of the theory. The extended theory showing good agreement with the experimental results, the strain history theory of plasticity is seen to be capable of explaining the plasticity phenomena for various strain history unificatively.
