抄録

In the previous paper, the author proved that the exact solutions of stress distributions and displacements on the free surface of semi-infinite elastic solid indented by a rigid sphere were obtained applying the Hankel transforms, and that the approximate solutions under the influence of friction on the contact surface were deduced by the suitable use of above solutions. In the present paper, the stress distributions at an interior part of the medium are given. As an example, the variation of the maximum shearing stress τ under the influence of friction for different values of ν (Poisson's ratio) is shown, and lastly the above results are discussed by means of two-dimensional photoelastic test.
