抄録

The characteristic performance of the exhaust turbine under such cyclic pulsation of flow as in case of exhaust-turbocharging of diesel engines has been studied experimentally by means of a model air turbine driven under the flow-control devices similar to that of the valve gears on the actual engines. It is concluded that the performance of such a turbine under non-steady flow may well be presumed analogically by the same method as in steady flow, if we assume proper equivalent initial condition before the turbine nozzle, i.e., the same energy level as the mean specific energy of the inflow mass per cycle.
