The Venturi scrubber is being used successfully for the removal of micron and submicron particle matter, both in solid or liquid state, from gas stream. From a practical stand point the most important item to be considered in the operation of the Venturi scrubber is the amount of power required by the overall pressure drop across the unit. In the 2nd report, the pressure drop at the throat of Venturi scrubber was discussed. The present paper treats the theoretical and experimental studies on the pressure recovery in diffuser, and the influences of various factors are investigated. The results obtained reveal that the spray particles contained in gas stream contribute somewhat to the pressure rise, and the most suitable diversing angle is 3°∼4°.
