Abstract
Previously, one of the authers reported on the theoretical consideration of the mechanism of thermal distortion appeared on the disc due to induction hardening and predicted the tendency how the distortion would be occur under different quenching conditions. In the present investigation, measurements of distortions caused by quenching transformation as well as by the thermal change under several induction hardening conditions have been performed. Thus, the effect of the quenching conditions and the size of the disc on the distortions have been made clear ana the result of the consideration stated in the previous paper has been verified by the experiment.
