抄録

We report the fatigue strength of medium steel under many-fold multiple rotating bending load in three stress levels. The two test conditions were chosen ; in the first condition the lowest and the middle stress levels kept constant and the highest stress level and the ratio of number of cycles are changed, and in another condition the stress ratios are kept constant. On the test in the two stress levels these conditions give the shortest fatigue life. The test results show that when the highest stress level is in the higher range the fatigue life N is greater than that calculated by the linear damage law Nth, and in the lower range N<Nth. Also the smaller the ratio of number of cycles of the highest stress n3/n0, the smaller the ratio N/Nth. The effect of the middle stress is not clear, if the ratio n3/n0 is kept constant. There is no distinct difference between the inclination of fatigue life for the test in two stress levels and in three stress levels, but generally the ratio N/Nth for the latter test is greater than for the former test.
