抄録

Mitsui has developed new 4-stroke medium speed diesel engine L and V 42M, having cylinder output of 750 bhp. Main features of the engine are:<BR>1. Strong and sturdy structure<BR>2. Easy maintenance<BR>3. Simplified L.O. and F.W. lines<BR>In this paper, the structural characteristics which realizes abovementioned features, the research results which are obtained in achieving them and performance data are described. And, brief comments on reduction gears for 42M engine are also presented.
