Abstract

We conducted replication of five articles using General Social Survey and International Social Survey Program data. The results indicate that we replicated the result of no article in its entirety. Present report practices make replication almost impossible. Many of us are surprisingly careless in our reporting habits. The confirmation of research findings through replication is an essential part of scientific methodology. The lack of replicability in empirical articles may raise serious questions regarding reliability of empirical studies. We recommend the report styles for replicability. Furthermore, the roles of academic association, data archive, and graduate education are discussed. The association could be of help to improve replicability.
