抄録

In order to investigate on the amount of inbreeding of the Japanese Brown Cattle population, the auther sampled breeding cows and bulls in the seven areas of Kumamoto prefecture, Japan, in 1955 and 1966.<br>It was observed that the inbreeding contributed from inter se relationships in the population was fairy constant, but the total inbreeding coefficient was increasing.<br>The breeding population of Japanese Brown Cattle was shown to be differentiated between areas, and the tendecy to genetic homogenity, which had been found in other cattle breeds in Japan, on accout of development of artificial insemination technique, was not observed in this breed.
