抄録
1) We observed the vertical movements of several parts of the body of horses and cattle, during their unstrained walks, through a serial photography and a cyclogram, <BR>2) The body-axis moves, like a both-end-supported-beam, putting the periodic pressure on its middle part.<BR>3) The elbow and knee-joints are rather stable than the other parts. Upper parts of the body locomote with a uniform velocity, and lower parts vary in velocity corresponding with the actions of limb.<BR>4) The locus of the trunk has two waves for one stride, and that of the limb has one.<BR>5) It is noteworthy that the walking manner of the horse is rather elastic, and that of cattle short-stepped.
