Description

The crystal of the racemate of the title compound, C16H23NO·HCl, belongs to space group P21/c with cell dimensions a = 12.476(6), b = 9.109(4), c = 13.759(7)Å, and β = 95.13(4)°. The final R value is 0.0567. The dihedral angle between the least-squares planes of the two rings is 57.1(6)°, and the distance between the centers of the two rings is 7.42 Å. There is only one intermolecular hydrogen bond between the protonated nitrogen atom and the chloride anion.
