Abstract

The disposer system, which combined with the household garbage disposers and the wastewater treatment installation, has spread quickly in Japan because of its hygienic garbage treatment properties. However, the environmental impact of the system has not discussed thoroughly. In this study, we analyzed the energy consumption change by introducing the disposer system. The case of the disposer solely installed (without wastewater treatment installation) was also analyzed. The overall energy consumption values were dominated by the energy consumption unit values of incineration and sewage works process. It was found that the introducing the disposer system did not increase the energy consumption of infrastructure of the cities. On the other hand, the disposer solely installation increased energy consumption
