Description
In recent years, the exportation of resources such as iron, aluminum and copper scrap etc. including e-wastes, is increasing in Japan under the background of economic development in Asia, while exported resources sometimes are processed improperly in developing countries that breed environmental pollution. Therefore, an appropriate physical distribution management system with traceability for the resources is necessary.
This paper attempts to build a model of International Resource Recycling System using Information Technology such as Global Position System (GPS), Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tags, etc. between Japan and China by means of an international accepted traceability system. We also did a demonstration test between Japan and China. As a result, it is confirmed that the traceability system (covered from emission, collection in Japan to processing and landfill facilities in China) is an effective mean to ensure appropriate process of transportation, processing and final disposal of the residue of each stage.
