Description

The study on the mating behavior of the yellow mealworm, Tenebrio molitor L. indicated the presence of a sex attractant to the male and a copulation release pheromone. The former secreted by the female was identified as 4-methyl-1-nonanol. The latter was found in both male and female and was synergized with 4-methyl-1-nonanol.
